Vets Jr, High closed today due to teacher "sick out". Almost 60 out of 91 teachers out "sick"-- using sick days to strike because they can't strike.
Such a great example to be setting for the kids.
You're going to ask the taxpayers to borrow $118 million to fix school buildings??? GOOD LUCK. GET THE CHARTER SCHOOLS IN TO SPEND THEIR MONEY TO FIX THEM -- not take more from the Warwick taxpayers.
If the city employees , police, and fire don't get the contracts they want, will they all call out sick? Will fire stations close for the day? Police all going to stay home? Will it be citizen vigilante justice in Warwick?
Consolidate it all and end the nightmare slowly destroying our city and state.
Just think of how much we'd all save.
Watch the "no contract show" carry on until just after Election Day 2018 when the School Committee is stacked in the WTU's favor. No wonder why the Mayor wanted to appoint his own School Committee members.
In their minds, it's just "evergreen" union contracts and 3% raises every single year and then some from the the taxpayer candy shop.
I remember a Warwick firefighter's message to me from two years ago..I still have it. He stated: "I could care less about what happens until someone comes to me and tells me my check is getting cut."
I'll never forget his message. It's one of the reasons why WARWICK WATCH was born.
Grab your wallets and your kids and run! It's only going to get worse.
