At the city budget public hearing today, there were several questions asked about employee salary increases. In addition to the negotiated contracted annual wage increase, a municipal city employee also accrues annual salary Step Increases (formally termed Longevity). The salary step Increases/longevity depend on the job classification pay grade and also the "qualifying years of service".

You can see below how the annual salaries increase when going from 6-18 months of service, to over 18 months of service, to 4-7 years of service, etc, etc...
Again, this is in addition to an annual 3% salary increase.
