The residents of Bayside have been concerned about sewer construction costs for years. The problem was councilman Ladouceur didn't want to hear it. Anyone who walked the neighborhoods and distributed flyers - to educate the public on costs, which this page did with others- knew full well that a great percentage of the residents were outraged and could not, and still cannot, afford sewers.
Unfortunately, this is another example of people not getting involved --until it's too late--and leaving their fate in the hands of politicians.
Mayor Avedisian was quoted at a sewer review commission meeting as stating "we send the City misfits to the WSA" -- that's why construction costs are high, sewer usage bills are outrageous, the WSA can't properly manage their projects, control their spending, and why people are so outraged and reluctant to connect.
