Oakland Beach Owners Assoc. Illegally Using Property For Personal Storage/Dumping at 735 Oakland Beach Ave
Oakland Beach residents have been complaining about the illegal storage containers located at 735 Oakland Beach Ave since December of 2015. For the past 14 months, Warwick city building inspectors have been warning city councilwoman Donna Travis and Beverly Sturdahl, her appointee to the zoning board, and co-leaders of the nonprofit that owns it -The Oakland Beach Real Estate Owners Association -about removing a steel storage container on the property located at 735 Oakland Beach Ave.
Sturdahl, Travis and Travis's husband are also officers/directors of JONAH, Inc., and The Oakland Beach Carousel nonprofits. Sturdahl also notorized Donna Travis's fraudulent RI Ethics Commission documents that led to two ethics violations that are under investigation and still pending before the RI Ethics Commission.
This Beverley Sturdahl, zoning board member, is also related to the recently deceased, long-time Warwick building inspector Mr. Melvin E. Sturdahl.
How long does it take to remove eye sore storage containers that are illegally located on a "non-profit" property in Warwick? If this was any other private taxpaying citizen, they would be facing heavy fines and penalties.
Property taxes are also outstanding for this piece of land in the amount of $2,237.30. Is the Oakland Beach Real Estate Owners Association also going to get a special tax break by "friends of Scott Avedisian" like the House of Hope did?
