Copiers & printers purchasing "improprieties" come under fire at Oct 3 Warwick City Council meeting. A municipal forensic fiscal audit is long overdue.
Prior to the city council meeting on Sept 7th, approximately $40,000 worth of printers and copiers somehow ordered themselves (on Aug 26 & 29) and were then put "on hold" (click on link and scroll to @25:44). These printers and copiers were then shipped (all on their own) on Aug 30th. and received by the city before any City Council approval process was rendered, which is required by City Charter law. When the head of the MIS department was directly questioned if he ordered the printers, he repeatedly did not answer the question and would only answer: "I put them on hold" and "could not control when the company shipped them".
O.k., great.. thanks for coming. That's it, no more questions.
Imagine how many more 'improprieties" a municipal forensic fiscal audit would reveal.
