Sexually Explicit Forms of Harassment - Just One Way Good Citizens Are Targeted For Speaking Out At Warwick City Hall
(WARNING-- SEXUALLY EXPLICIT LANGUAGE)
The typed letter arrived in the same envelope as the WFD recruitment drive form, today in the mail. This has been occurring now for at least 2 years-- various forms of harassment received by myself and others (including family members) for being politically involved. There are numerous reports filed regarding these matters with the Warwick police.
I have met personally with the fire chief and the police chief regarding these incidents, and yet the harassment by email, phone, mail, magazine subscriptions, etc.. continues. Business as usual in Warwick.
Starting today, it all gets posted online so the public can see ---the mentality behind the retaliation--- that exists when any good citizen asks questions at Warwick City Hall, or exposes the corruption online, or when a citizen simply asks a question and wants an answer online.
It's all going public..

The Mayor is quick to shut down the Buttonwoods Senior Community Center but, at the same time, rewards his cronies with substantial raises.
Getting back to Holly Weber who was working for the Pilgrim Senior Center as their "Community Program Coordinator" making an annual salary of $52,000. The Mayor moved her on over to the NEWLY CREATED POSITION at Parks & Rec, increasing her salary by over 30% to an annual salary of $66,950.
Then , the Mayor rewards his friend and Director of Senior Services at the Pilgrim Senior Center, Meg Underwood, with over a 10% raise, increasing her annual salary by $8,048 to $76,491.
In addition to this, the city knew the Buttonwoods Community Senior Center would be closing, and still spent $125K to upgrade the fire alarms there, while the school buildings were overlooked. Someone made out well to upgrade fire alarms for an empty building.
The Mayor's motto is: "let the seniors be damned, I'm going to take care of my friends no matter what the cost."
Nepotism and special friends get special favors in the city of Warwick... this is where your tax dollars go:

IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU TAKE YOUR TIME, READ IT OVER, AND HAVE YOUR QUESTIONS READY FOR THE PUBLIC HEARING AT WARWICK CITY HALL, MONDAY, SEPT. 25TH @ 7PM!!!
Is This Why Only Special, Dedicated, and Informed Concerned Citizens Fight For The Taxpayers At Warwick City Hall???
How DARE you question the budget of the Warwick Fire Department!!! If you do, be prepared for: letters being sent to your employer requesting that you be fired, ridiculous slanderous videos, cyber harassment threats, and other forms of harassment sent to your home and the homes of your family, as well as heckling inside Warwick City Hall.
Too bad the Warwick Fire Department- Local 2748 can't stick with the FACTS to justify their continuous budget over spending of public tax dollars.
Notice their playbook remains the same: "attack the messenger when you can't attack the message."
All of the Warwick Reps voted "yes" on HB5510, including self proclaimed (it sounds good for the campaign trail) "pro-Second Amendment" advocate, (D) Camille Vella-Wilkinson.
The Warwick Reps that voted "yes" (all Democrats) are: Bennett, McNamara, Serpa, Shanley, Shekarchi, Solomon and Vella-Wilkinson.
Speaker Nicholas A. Mattiello (D)-District 15 Cranston, also voted: "YES".
Below is the documentation of the lawsuit filed by the Warwick Firefighters union (retirees) against the city of Warwick.
Back in 2015, when the 3 year Warwick Fire contracts were renewed (they expire the end of this fiscal year), the active firefighters working for the city of Warwick received, five 1.5-percent raises (every six months except January 2016) over three years. They also got a 50% increase in their unused sick time pay -THAT THEY BANK for payout- and they also received a 25% increase in their holiday pay.
NOTE: The Fire 1 retiree pension plan is currently underfunded by $311 MILLION but they're suing the City for COLA increases. Total unfunded pension and healthcare liabilities for the City are just over $1 BILLION.
Warwick Watch covered this situation in more detail back in February, read more about that: here.
After the city council made cuts to the firefighter's OT budget this past May as they were working to balance a new budget that would NOT increases taxes, Chief McLaughlin with his full 220 compliment and then some, looks at the city council finance committee this week and states that the cuts just aren't going to be enough to cover OT in the fire department.
The fire department has already blown through 52% of their OT budget just 2 1/2 months into the new fiscal year, and their change of shifts are out of control.
The firefighter unused sick time banking scam was also revealed at the Warwick City council budget hearings in May. Here is the video:
Why isn't this sick time banking scam being investigated by federal authorities?
The Mayor is fully aware of the sick time scam and is doing nothing about it.
Mayor Avedisian, it's time for you to find your SPINAL CHORD again and officially investigate the illegal activity you know is taking place.
