Warwick City employee Cameron Whittaker was first arrested and charged in the city of Coventry back in April for domestic vandalism.
Whittaker was then arrested and charged in the city of Warwick last month for misdemeanor domestic violence and simple assault. His first court hearing was continued in June, then continued again yesterday, July 26, 2017 because his attorney now wants to speak to the alleged victim's attorney.
Is this how the system works when it comes to domestic violence? How many more times will the shenanigans continue?
Warwick Watch is sending out a direct message to the alleged victim, Samantha:
Samantha, after reading the incident report regarding what occurred on 6/10/17, along with your statements of Whittaker's "history of manipulation and coercion", it is HIGHLY ADVISED that you stand your ground and follow through with this case to the fullest extent.
DO NOT BACK DOWN.
After observing Cameron Whittaker's online behavior and the multitude of derogatory and sexually explicit comments he has made over the past few years against taxpayers that are actively involved at City Council meetings, it is the opinion of this page that this individual is mentally unstable, malicious and dangerous.
Feel free to have your attorney contact this page for further information Samantha. Warwick Watch has obtained a multitude of harassing and derogatory screen shot comments over the years both from social media pages and online news stories. The most recent comments made by Whittaker were sexual in nature and were posted online just over this past weekend.
Warwick taxpayers should not have to pay a salary to this type of low life, trash.
Warwick leadership and law enforcement is fully aware of this individual's continuing unstable, inappropriate behavior.
Stand your ground Samantha and do not let him get away with what he did because he will do it to someone else, and the results could be worse.
Follow through on your case to the fullest extent, be strong and STAND YOUR GROUND-- Do not cave.
Warwick Watch received an email two days ago:
"Have you noticed all of the signs nailed to the telephone poles on Post Road and Jefferson BLVD? I thought this was illegal? The company name is on all of them. They should be fined and made to take them down. Every other pole has one!" ~Harold
Harold, thank you for alerting this page regarding this matter.
Warwick Watch went out today to check out the amount of signage on utility poles beginning at the intersection of Post Rd and Warwick Ave, continuing down Post Rd towards Airport Rd.
Looks like it's definitely a problem that should not be happening and... it also looks terrible!
There were signs illegally posted on almost all of the utility poles from Warwick Ave/Post Rd all the way to Post/Airport Roads.
Out of just over 30 signs in total that were counted, about half of them were from "Hunter Law Office" 401-353-0060 (black bankruptcy sign). Warwick Watch called the law firm and got attorney Hunter on the phone and asked him why he had his signs posted on the utility poles. His answer, "others are doing it." He also claimed there is an issue of "selective enforcement".
Attorney Hunter really didn't seem like he wanted to hear it. He even stated that he was suing the city of Cranston for this issue of "selective enforcement". Looks like attorney Hunter is trying to prove a point while he "selectively" -and illegally- posts his law firm signs right over the signs of other businesses that are also illegally advertising on utility poles.
What's up with some attorneys these days suing cities for enforcing -or not properly enforcing- their own laws?? Between panhandling and signs on utility poles, what's next? Law firm business must be lagging...
Imagine how many law suits Warwick would be facing if the people starting suing the city for not enforcing their ordinances? Let's start with blighted properties...the city would have to call Hunter to file bankruptcy tomorrow!
According to the city of Warwick Code of Ordinances
Sec. 40-27. - "Posting of Temporary Signs For Business":
"Except as otherwise allowed in this Code and the appendix thereto, it is hereby prohibited and shall be unlawful for any person, corporation, business or other entity to affix or otherwise knowingly cause to be affixed to any telephone pole, electric company pole, traffic control device, lamppost, fence, tree or structure located within any City of Warwick or State of Rhode Island right-of-way any posting, sign or other advertisement intended for the purposes of soliciting business.
Any violation of this section shall upon conviction be punishable as provided in section 1-4 (the violation of any such provisions of this Code or any ordinance shall be punished by a fine not exceeding $500.00 or by imprisonment not exceeding 30 days) of this Code. In addition to duly appointed police officers, the director of the department of public works, or his or her designee shall have authority to enforce the provisions of this section, and to that end shall be authorized to issue summonses of the municipal court to any person who is in violation of the provisions of this section.
(Ord. No. O-99-61, § I, 11-8-99; Ord. No. O-05-35, § I, 11-9-05; Ord. No. O-06-13, § I, 5-8-06)"
When is the city of Warwick going to be proactive with enforcing its own ordinances? At what level of blighted trashiness is the city willing to go to?
Post Road, at the heart of the infamous "City Centre", should be the "Las Vegas" of Warwick.. yet it's looking more and more like the slums of Detroit every day.
Selectively get every single one of those signs removed from all of the utility poles in the city and start mailing out the fines!

Local Authorities Know Who The Panhandlers Are, So Should the Public...More info on panhandler Jamal Ruspus
Here is the extensive criminal record that can be found on line via RIJudiciary.com for the black, heavy set panhandler Jamal Ruspus, AKA "Cee-Lo" DOB 2/23/80 that stands in the median almost daily at the intersection of East Ave and Bald Hill Rd in Warwick.
Ruspus is claiming an address of 160 Broad St in Providence which is the location of Crossroads. Doesn't look like Crossroads is doing much to help Ruspus. Is he just a number? He takes the bus down to Warwick every single day to stand in the middle of one of our city's busiest roadways to panhandle for cash so he can keep up with his ongoing criminal lifestyle.
RI Judiciary.com> Smartsearch> type in Jamal Ruspus- DOB 2/23/80 - the results will show multiple arrests over a period of years including jail time. Ruspus has been arrested multiple times for felony domestic abuse and assault, felony possession of narcotics, trespassing, and felony second degree robbery.
Ruspus has accumulated almost 20 criminal cases and close to 10 warrants over the years. His most recent arrest was on 6/19/2017 at 7:52 am, for possession of schedule I, II & III narcotics. This information can be found in the PDF file for the Providence Police Dept. arrest log past 60 days.. go to pages 189-192 and the info for Ruspus can be found as the 5th item down on each page.
This is what the RIACLU fights for to keep on our streets?
What is CROSSROADS going to do about it???
The RIACLU wants to sue our cities and fight for this criminal human element while families sit at traffic lights with kids in their cars and these criminals are staring them in the face for cash?
Not on my WATCH.
I'm going to keep on using my my First Amendment rights to continue speaking out against this bullshit.
Back in March of 2015, the Mayor and police chief were going to look into the increased crime occurring at Motel 6 on 20 Jefferson Blvd in Warwick. Prostitution, manufacturing of crystal meth and gunfire had the Mayor stating:
“Not for the purpose of taking their licenses away from doing their business, but I think more to have them sit down and review their business model, see if we can tighten up their cooperation with law enforcement and see if we can lower the incidences that we’re seeing right now,” he explained. (WPRI).
Motel 6, formerly owned by Coastal Holding Warwick LLC, was sold on 12/18/2015 to JSK Providence, LLC for
$3,537,000. According to the numbers, it doesn't look like "a new business model" has decreased the level of criminal activity at their motel.. in fact, it looks like it's getting worse.
The weekday room rate of $79.09/night and the weekend rate range of $109.99- $129.99/night are not deterring the illegal activity rates.
According to a recent public records request response from the city, Warwick taxpayers are still having to cover the bill for the increasing public safety incidents associated with the ongoing "nefarious activities" (as the chief put it) taking place at Motel 6.
Over a one year time period, from July 2016- July 2017-- Warwick police and fire have responded to *540 * Motel 6 calls.
- 232 police
- 308 fire/rescue
This is ludicrous!
Back in March of 2015, the Mayor and the Chief were not certain if they had the authority to shut Motel 6 down and would be looking into it further.
Chief McCartney stated:
"I can assure you if this was in a residential area, the residents would have gone nuts a long time ago,” McCartney said. “It is really abutting the highway and most of the people we have arrested are either from out of town or out of state.”
The issue is, Warwick taxpayers are paying the increasing public safety bills while this motel stays open! This motel attracts degenerate, illegal activity into our community and it doesn't look like new ownership has changed anything. Why does it need to be in a residential neighborhood to matter more? It's in our city, and the taxpayers pay the public safety bills.
Does it take another meth lab manufacturing bust, prostiution of minors, or maybe a murder to make the news again, for city leadership to step up to the -being proactive plate- and take action?
The Chief stated back in March of 2015 that he wasn't looking to put Motel 6 out of business. Why not? What good is this establishment doing for our community?
Is the city that desperate for the tax revenue?
On June 21, 2017, Nicole Dickey of 47 Beach Ave, Warwick was fined $500 for leaving a 6 month old pit bull by the name of "Ghost" in a hot car. Temperatures inside the vehicle were 118- 120F.
Warwick Watch has a ZERO TOLERANCE policy when it comes to these incidents and will relentlessly document and expose the ignorant and cruel behavior of dog owners that commit these acts of animal cruelty, and put innocent, defenseless animals in deaths way.
