Newport RI Woman, Cat Hoarder-Family Counselor- Charged With Animal Cruelty, Dead Cats Found In Freezer, Other Cats Living in Deplorable Conditions
Multiple complaints have been pouring in over the years about the smell of feces and cat urine emanating from the home of Linda Strahan, age 72 living at 103 Kay St in Newport, yet the issue was not getting resolved by local authorities so concerned neighbors turned to the RISPCA.
When the RISPCA first showed up to the home, Strahan wouldn't let anyone inside the house, so a search warrant went into effect.
RISPCA walked into a horror show. Cat feces was covering almost every area of the home and the smell of cat urine was unbearable. Then, the horror show continued to the owner's freezer where the remains of 26 dead cats were found, all wrapped up individually in plastic. An additional 18 other cats were found alive, living in deplorable conditions. A few photos of the scene show feces covering the floors and bed.
This same woman, Linda Strahan had issues with animal hoarding back in 2010 when 50 cats were surrendered by her and she was never charged. So for 8 more years, more cats continued to live in the deranged house of hoarder hell with a woman who clearly needs to be locked up in a psychiatric unit.
But wait!!! The story becomes even more twisted as a simple online search reveals that Linda Carol Strahan is a "Family Counselor" who provides mental health and pastoral care services! Can you imagine the advice that was dished out by this woman over the years??? It's too horrifically bad that Strahan didn't practice on herself whatever it is she preached to her clients...
This woman should never be near another animal ever again for the rest of her life and her "practice" needs to be shut down completely. Let's see what a RI judge is going to rule on this one.
